The differece lies between on of them being an ideology (feminism: men and women should have equal rights) and the other being a political party. All feminists (yes, that includes men) believe in that basic tenant of equality stated earlier in order to be categorized as members of the feminist movement. Fundamental or superficial changes in ideology are expected for a political party because of its purpose is to further the causes and beliefs of a group of like-minded people whatever they may be. In essence, the definition of feminism will not change because it's an ideology, while the Republican party's views on race are subject to change because it is a political party.
