My lord... the labels aren't to fight for rights, they're to find a partner. If you're asexual and sex-repulsed, it's a heck of a lot easier to find a date if you can use that label to look for other people WITH THAT LABEL. This is coming from someone inside the community... I know asexuality isn't something I need to fight for, but maybe I want to find a partner? Sue me
