I'm okay with people eating dogs or cats, it's their culture and it's just what they do, just like we eat cows and pigs and so on. However, all animals should be treated ethically, not caged like these dogs are. Also I think there's a Chinese belief that dogs taste better when tortured beforehand, which is just disgusting. But speaking of bad treatment, a similar argument could be made against western countries and our shitty treatment of chickens, cows and pigs. It's kind of hypocritical that some American activists protest eating dogs but not the fact that chickens are kept in tiny cages, fed with steroids and killed when they stop laying eggs.

Imagine being the students and setting up the scene, all the equipment, rehearsing with the band for hours upon hours only to be told to turn it down because it upsets someone's babies. Maybe I'm just an asshole but that seems like a pretty selfish move from the woman's side.
