She also had placental accreta, where her placenta grew too deeply into the uterus that it couldn't just be delivered normally after the baby, which, as I mentioned above is one of the necessary things to get rid of all the dangerous symptoms from pre-eclampsia. In the most severe cases of placental accreta it can grow completely through the uterus and even reach the bladder or other organs.
I don't like the Kadrashians, by ANY means, but I just think it is so terrible for anyone to suffer through even one of these conditions, let alone both (and these conditions are not interconnected, so you don't normally have both). So on that basis, I think it is really shitty to shame her. I also worry about the women with pre-eclampisa now who saw her get shamed for this and are further terrified and ashamed themselves.

In the baby, the high blood pressure from the mother can reduce the amount of oxygen and nutrients that get delivered to the placenta, which can stunt the babies development, and increase the risk of death. If this is the case, the doctors have to induce a premature birth in an attempt to save the babies life.
The placenta is also delivers the babies waste products back to the mother for normal disposal, and as the placenta is affected, this too puts the baby at risk of being killed by toxins and other by products of metabolism.
Another serious complication of pre-eclampsia is where the placenta separates from the uterine wall and the woman experiences vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain. This is a medical emergency.

Pre-eclampsia which is an extremely serious medical condition that can be dangerous for both mother and baby.
In the mother, it causes high blood pressure, protein in the urine, and these in turn can effect the kidneys, liver, brain, and blood clotting system. If left untreated, pre-eclampsia can lead to serious problems such as: fitting or convulsions, kidney failure, liver failure, clotting problems or death.
One of the main symptoms is the severe swelling that you can see. And, unfortunately, there is absolutely no cure except for the birth of both the baby and placenta (and the birth comes with increased danger for both mother and baby if pre-eclampsia is present).
Since it is not widely known, anyone in the street seen with pre-eclampsia is subject to ridicule, as if they are not already embarrassed and heartbroken enough just by looking in the mirror.

You don't think it's a bit shitty to shame her over a medical condition she couldn't control, and the clothes her husband dresses her in?

*brushtail possum. They can be so sweet, so long as there aren't other possums around. Our brushtails fight with other brushtails, as well as the smaller ringtail possums. Australian possums are totally adorable, and very unlike the terrifying opossum.

I watched a bunny sleep in his human's arms for a full 20 minutes the other day. I swear I reduced my blinking to not miss a minute of it. Worth it.
