I think the poison they're referring too is the theocratic government that denied the victim justice, not the woman herself.

That's wrong on more levels than I can address, but I'm gonna try.
Laws are only just when written and enforced by just people.
Morality determines law, not the other way around. That's why laws change, and why different cultures have different laws.
And your "exceptions" fail to account for the countless lawyers, lawmakers, protesters, voters, ect, that challenge laws and punishments everyday.

It might not matter in the eyes of the law, but sensible people know that the law is not infallible. Especially not in places like Turkey.

Depending on what kind it is it may be less effective, but I doubt they come with expiration dates on them.

I already joined the army as a medic. I'll see how the next four years play out before deciding what to study.

I'm not arguing that, I'd just prefer something where I get to spend more time outdoors, even if it's a frozen tundra or a scorching desert.
