Has religion killed more people than cancer? Or is it dumbfucks who think they're doing the right thing and don't understand religion? Tell me how religion has been self-destructive.
How did I know most of the things you would quote would be from the Old Testament or Leviticus? That's the Old Testament pal, so all that weird stuff like not growing a beard and all that you mentioned is history. We don't follow that anymore so your argument is invalid.
So just because we don't kill people in just the same way for just the same reasons as we used to means all those old murders didn't happen? Interesting, indeed...
Zmatrizng--all that stuff was for the Jews. They had very specific rules to keep them lawful and healthy so they would be set apart from the rest of the world as a shining light. All that cleanliness stuff? Well, that's what helped then survive the bubonic plague! No we know about germs. Also, male homosexual activity is actually quite dangerous (look up the hiv stats). God didn't forbid homosexuality because he's an asshole, it's because he didn't want stuff like AIDS to happen to his people. As for the "kill the sinner" stuff, humans are notoriously bad at following instructions. Threat of death is the only way to get through to people sometimes!
Yes, not because they are similar but because they are both examples where you can feel differently about it in general and specific cases of it. Does that make sense?
