does it make me sound old if I'm concerned that the school allowed her bare her midriff? more than an inch of skin showing got you sent home at my high school. not trying to police what other women/girls wear, just saying: times have changed in the last 11 years
I'm sure she got dress coded. At my high school, you can't even show your shoulders, much less midriffs (not that it stops many girls), but they get dress coded all the time.
I couldn't get my ears pierced til I was ten, got my belly button pierced at 18 and had to hide it from my parents every time I came home from college. It's a different generation. Different parents raise their kids different ways. Personally I wouldn't let my daughter (if I had children) walk out the door dressed like that but to each their own.
