I don't get how it is proof for double standards. Porn has been made nearly exclusively by men for men, and it often gives a terrible image of sex, based on "come on here, lady slave, and suck it" stuff. Now, women are starting to make porn, and it's... somewhat different. Way better, in my opinion. Porn in which women also take pleasure, y'know?
There's a couple of different thoughts on this. The sex positive, choice feminist crowd tends to think that any choice a woman makes devoid of any coercion is something that cannot be criticized. More old school feminists tend to believe that the porn industry is full of a bunch of skeezy dudes who exploit young woman for money. I think the true answer lies in the middle: there is sexual exploitation in porn, there's no doubt about that. There are also plenty of female porn stars who have massive creative control over what they do.
Feminists arnt against porn. They are against the fact that porn is made by men for men. It caters to men only and in most scenarios is about degrading or demoralising a woman. Yes there are women in them, yes these women get paid, yes some women like these movies, but where is the choice for those who want a healthier view of sex? Most porn has no room for a strong woman with her own sexuality, the woman's organism is hardly if ever considered unless she's coming because a guy spunked on her face ( no one will cum cause you hit her in the eye with sperm). In the end any good feminist will tell you porn is great when its about all genders getting their sexual needs met equally. Thats not saying theres no room for kinks and preferences, its just that 99% of porn is made with mens preferences in mind (in saying that I know a lot of men who are sick of being told they want to spunk all over "Bitches").
Probably not as much as you kiddo. But then I am doing a degree in psychology and I'm writing a paper about attitude towards sex and societies influence, but what would I know.....*sigh*.
