The guest is correct! My parents have a place about 3 hours away from the closest city and no lights on any roads within maybe 6 miles. It's astonishing how many stars are visible on a clear night, I dragged my friend outside in -17 degree weather to show him a few weeks ago.
We have a place about 60 miles from the nearest city, no expressways, no street lights, neighbors half a mile away, on clear summer nights we can see an entire sky of stars and more constellations than most people even know exist. I never want to give up the awesome beauty, peacefulness and seclusion of it.
