The only way I was able to grow my hair long was because I bought myself an amazing brush by Mason Pearson. It's called the detangler or something and it allowed me to comb all the knots out almost pain-free.
I have long hair (waist length) that is naturally curly (I straighten it daily) and I've never had trouble brushing it out to straighten it, I'm lucky enough to not get knots in it... I feel for the girls (and guys) that do
My worst is trying to brush my hair if I try and towel dry it. I have to just wrap it in a towel. But if I want it dried quicker and actually rub the towel over my hair is hell to brush out
Omg I feel this on so many levels. I'm had suuuuper long hair until last month when I donated most of it. I used to scowl at people who said I should cut my hair lmao and then I did it.
I have all these problems with short, straight hair because of its thickness. I hate it when it knits because all my friends just go, why is your hair so knotty? Did you tease it? And I am just like nope, it's natural and no one believes me!
