Country songs recently (the mainstream ones especially) are 80%+ of the time about beer and a small town and it feels so repetitive and half of em are really pop songs with a twang...older, more meaningful stuff is all good. Auto tuned repetitive shit like what's on the radio and what's popular isn't.
Yes there's the old town and beer songs but if you think that dominates most of the genre, then you are so very wrong. I very much doubt you even listen to country music.
Same here tbh. I can't stand the thing I notice in many songs I've tried listening to, that often they'll force the accent. If you listen to foreign people sing, even their accents don't usually come out that much. It just sounds so phony to me
That is an interesting point of view and, assuming you like pop music, i could use a similar argument. Pop music is all about sex and relationships and break ups. If you say that "not all pop songs are about that" then i could easily say the same thing about country.
Modern country music is just repetitive and annoying really. Its not better than other shit music honestly but id rather listen to country than R&B, Rap, or any other Pop genre
I go to school in small college town Texas it can get pretty stereotypical here. But I must say I only like a few songs I dont love the genre id much rather head bang and air guitar to ACDC or Metallica than sing about beer and trucks even though I love beer and trucks
