I hate the "back in my day" argument so much

Back in my day, we respected our elders! Just kidding, that'd be a very stupid thing to say as I don't quite understand the youth and the nuances of how they portray respect. :-)

Or when your foreign parents try to tell you how you would act or be treated if you were in their country... even though you weren't raised there...
