Key of advice, hold the spoon at a sharp angle with the bowl part lower down. The water will flow down the spoon and wash it instead of launching off it.

I don't get how so many people do this, do you have no awareness?

Pasta shells. When pouring the water it's this but boiling water. It hurts.
