To clarify what this failed to explain; this girl played the character Zarya, a character heavily reliant on your ability to track movement with your mouse and prediction on where the enemy would be next. Her ability to not only follow peoples movement almost perfectly, but also uncannily predict where they would be next is what made her suspicious. If you've ever played the game, watch some footage of her and you'll understand why it was suspicious. The main reason it became prominent in the news, is because a couple of pro players bet their careers that she was cheating (they promised to quit). After it was found to be legitimate they kept their word and left the game. However it had nothing to do with her age or gender, just her skill.
She is so good that another pro player was so mad about being beaten by a teen that he threatened her with a knife. Bad idea since she was 17 and he was in his 20s.
So, I don't have all the details of this… did they think she had illegal help just because she's a girl or because her skills were so high up there that they thought no human could do what she did?
