I can mostly agree with this, the hypocrisy and all, but sometimes you don't want to see kids make the same mistakes as you may have made. I don't want to see kids drink,smoke and other things that I have done. I don't get bent out of shape by kids swearing, blasting music,and things like that. With drinking, have a good time, don't go way overboard with it.
This may be a difficult concept, but your parents are (probably) adults, taxpayers and homeowners, while the children are occupants of the living space they pay for and consumers of the goods and services they pay for, like food, utilities and auto insurance. If you really want to live your own life with the freedom to make all your own decisions, do,so as an adult--that is, you pay for your own expenses and provide your own resources...and not in their house. As Sheldon said, "Mi cathedral, mi regula."
