@kissalinda has wise words. He’s probably been doing things right for years. In a year he will be even stronger, if you keep going, you will be too. Either way you’ll be a year older if you’re still on earth, so do you want to be where you are now, or have a year of training by then? But also keep your goals in mind. Do you want to just be able to bench more that anyone on earth, or are you doing this to look better, feel better, perform better? There’s a reason you’re there. You’ll never be the record holder in every lift, every event, every sport. There’s always something you’ll be better at and worse at than another. Focus on always being better than you are right now, you’ll eventually beat him or you won’t, but you’ll be better off than when you started either way.
