If you didn't want to be stared at then you wouldn't put shiny objects all over your face and dye your hair an unnatural color. Odd things attract attention. It's human nature.
That's likely, but my point still stands, if you look unnatural then people are going to stare. Staring is rude, yes, but it's also just instinct and people shouldn't get upset about it.
Right, but you’ve implied that people do it because they want the attention—and that’s a common sentiment. And, I’m sure some people do want the attention. Some people have other motives unrelated to whether people will stare or not. While it’s true that a person who has a lot of piercings/colors shouldn’t get upset when people stare, it still stands that many of these people aren’t doing it for others.
