Even when you love it, you hate it.

So true. Science can be fun and facinating but hard science can also be down right boring. That's life in a nut she'll really. Almost anything we do takes more planning and preparations, more paperwork and care than the brief excitement and joy it produces. Piloting an aircraft, discovering a tomb, being a soldier or police officer, even buying a new house or car or getting married- all have interesting moments but by and large are routines and work, boredom and steady predictability. So really that's what it is when we love something. We are saying that all the sacrifice and boredom, preparation and care, is worth this tiny seed of enjoyment.

We love to understand things and that’s why science is one of the best and one of the worst things for us.
