Hello freaking the absolute fuck out right now, I’m pokethebear.

I'm not sure if it's launched into an actual panic attack or not?
timebender25 · 5 years ago
There's a pit in my chest, iron in my mouth, and it feels like I've been stabbed.
timebender25 · 5 years ago
Is this what panic attacks are like?
timebender25 · 5 years ago
I'm on fire and freezing at the same time.

Deep breaths. Focus. Look around you. Can you find 6 things you recognize, and name them? Deep breaths. Slow down.
freudiandip · 5 years ago
Okay, do you know the common breathing technique? If not, it's in for 4, hold for five, and out for seven

There is no need to be scared. Everything will be okay.

This is a single moment in time. It will pass. Count the moments. Just be in this moment right now. Don’t think about the last moment or the next moment. Just look at this moment right now. In this moment you are ok. You’re doing just fine, and the worst thing that can happen, is still not that bad. So you are ok and going to be ok.

I'm good now. Thank you.

My counselor noticed and called me in to see what's wrong.

Time you're being too hard on yourself, if you feel you're going to have or are having a panic attack go to the bathroom (disabled one if it's free) and sit down. Put your head in your knees and breathe. Do the first thing Guest suggested, it helps focus back on the present. Once you feel a little better you can read this next sentence.
Sleep is important so obviously without 3 days of it you're going to forget stuff, brain training doesn't help when you don't sleep. That's just a fact. So don't go blaming yourself for forgetting a week long, probably 6 classes each day schedule. You have more than 2 options, you can ask someone in your classes an see what they have next, if you can't do that then don't worry about it. I think your first option of going to the office is best, they don't care if you ask Time, they won't remember you asking, so don't overthink it or believe you are being annoying cause it's their job to help you. This is a late reply so hopefully you're okay now.

It's 9 classes. Actually, 10 'cause it starts on 0.

Thank you. As my last message, my counselor noticed and called me in to help. We got it sorted out, I got a schedule and it's been otherwise fine so far. I suppose it was bound to happen eventually, senior year with such a rocky course through school I'm surprised I'm still here at all.
I'm very hard on myself. Someone has to be, otherwise nothing gets done.
parisqeen · 5 years ago
Haha although I have a similar attitude towards myself as well, so I'm being a bit of a hypocrite but you have to give yourself a break sometimes. 9 classes is intense so I'd be amazing if you remembered them all. Glad you got it sorted out.

3 are study halls, and one in lunch.

The 3rd study hall is in a different place to the first 2. (Sitting in it now, actually.)

It's a lot of classes. And it's partly my fault for slacking in the earlier years.
But it's also a mess of a schedule.
freudiandip · 5 years ago
Hey, you can do it! Just make a list of the most important stuff, and work downwards. It's how I got through High School, and how I got through my first two years of college. I believe in you.

Glad you got sorted out. Please be kind to yourself. It sounds like you’re doing a lot. Give yourself some leeway. If you figure that everyone deserves a little room for mistakes or complications, and you’re taking on so much, you deserve extra wiggle room. Remember that no one is perfect nor anything. It’s all just sort of life. You e been through worse and you’ll likely see worse before all is said and done, but those moments fade away in time. Focus on the good moments, make it through the bad. It’ll all be fine. Best of luck.

Hey man! If my time zone calculations are correct, then I'm just giving you a friendly reminder that you should start thinking about bed now :) I hour the rest of your day was smooth, but you'll definitely feel better with a solid night of sleep tonight!
timebender25 · 5 years ago
Yeah, it's 11pm.
And I definitely plan on sleeping basically the whole weekend through. Need to catch up on what I lost.
