Not really. Bloodflies just really like breeding in corpses, but they can make normal nests. Many of their nests are made in old corpses, but after a while there's nothing left of the original body.

Also, spot on description but should probably mention: the whole cheese thing is a bit of a joke with the devs where they have loads of cheesy easter eggs hidden in the maps. It's been a thing since the first game (Origins), but is a lot more noticeable in Inquisition.
