Some are try buying the cheap brands that don't come in boxes. They taste the same and you get more for less. Plus less trash so those foot print people can be happy.
A ziplock doesn't really work because the crumbs and dust particles of the cereal makes it unusable when they get into the sealing. Source: me, who tried filled his favourite cereal in a huge ziplock. Try a big polybag instead and close it with a clamp. Or even better: buy a large tupperware, that works best for me. By the way: I am glad for everyone who cannot taste the difference between a brand cereal and a cheaper knock off. Cause I can.
some knockoffs are the real deal bagged different... it varies. like, i can totally tell on frosted lakes but i got used to it, random cuz its not cereal but i thought walmart brand ham and cheese hot pockets were better than real hot pockets... theres a cereal i really want to say is the same but i cannot for the life of me think of the name i think the off brand is like... sugar bears or something ridiculous...
They use it wrong by, you can put the bag into the reusable container and pull the extra bits of the bag over the edge and put the lid on. When you use up part of the cereal, you can pull the extra bit of the bag down the outside so that the fullness of cereal in the bag is higher. Then you just throw the bag away when its empty. You also then don't have to clean the container. The same method is used for trash but in reverse. The weight of new trash pushes the bottom of the bag down so that you don't loose the edge bit into the trash container.
does this mean you do not clean your trash can? and also that sounds like way more work than simply pouring in the cereal and giving the container a quick wash when its empty.
