I think the steady stream of pictures...I get that your baby's first ____ is important to you. But that's just it. It is important to you, I don't particularly care about your kid's first time eating pasta.
As a parent I totally understand being obsessed with your kids first anything..I understand just being obsessed with your kid period...but I always feel weird showing/giving people pictures like "Do they even care? Am I just being egotistical thinking they want to see pics of my kid??" I always ask first :^)
But no one wants to be the jackass that says, "nah, I'll pass on seeing those pics." We say, "of course I want to see the pics of your kid getting his first haircut!!!!"
I've had people say No thanks to seeing pics. I don't usually try to show off those little thungs like a first haircut or first solid meal lol I'll ask if they want to see kids first trip to the snow or kids first fishing trip or beach trip
That's very true in terms of development but when someone asks "How old is he/she?" they're probably just asking about age and not about your kids development
My daughter is in the "month" age part of her life and I can't keep up. People ask how old she is and I'm like, "she'll be 2 in January." Let them do the month math.
You say Months up until 24. After that you should stop. Clothes are often marked by months. But not after 24. The main reason you use months are: developing. A baby who is 14 months and a baby who is 21 months are both over 1 year and under 2. One is able to point at certain things and tell you what it is. The other can speak in sentences. One is learning to hold two things; one in each hand. The other one is throwing and catching a ball. And if you dont use months. Both these kids are still just 1 year old.. If you keep using months after 24, its mainly because after thinking of your babys age in months for so long, it is not always easy to stop doing it....
