Actually, the law states that they can seize property, without an actual legal cause. If the property is under suspicion of being used in a crime, they can take it. If you want to get it back, you would have to go through a series of legal shit that will cost you time, effort, and money. So, no matter what, they are gonna get some funding.
Anyone with a lambo can afford a lawyer to get it back. Civil asset forfeiture is fucked up and should be absolutely unconstitutional, but I highly doubt the guy that had that lambo seized was innocent if he couldn't get it back.
Thay's one lucky officer. Ive seen at least half a dozen super cars that were seized and turned into cop cars here in Florida. Most are in Tampa and Miami.
