My roommate accidentally didn't shut the door on his way to school and Roxas got out. I even lied on my missing poster that he was my emotional support animal hoping I could guilt trip people into puttiing effort to keep an eye out. It's been a year and he never came home
This was from a longer post that was to raise awareness for lost cats. Like my comment above says, the odds of a lost cat returning home as really really low, and most people think any cat they see is an outside cat, thus not looking to see who the owner is. This was made so that people would better know which cats are strays and which ones are owned and shouldn't be out and will help to increase the number of found cats.
Chip only helps if someone thinks the cat is a stray, and they take to the vet. Most people either assume it’s an outside cat or a stray. If someone ‘rescues’ a cat, they usually keep it and don’t go check for a chip.
