I was reading a story on fanfic once that was written in 2006 and only had one chapter. I got a notification in 2012 that the author finally update it, I thought it was either already finished or the author had given up before.
I haven't updated the one I was writing in about a month now. Plot isn't that bad, just that all the chapers I write are short asf and feels like writing a script that you recite instead of a fanfiction you read.
There's one I left hanging back in 2013 that I promised to continue but still haven't.

10 years on and I'm still reading them xD
I think can't find that amazing Harry Potter fanfic I read with Draco and Harry hooking up. It's set like 10 years later, Draco served time and got his magic taken away and has to go live with Ron to accustom him to Muggle life. Ron & Hermione are married but she got cursed and is in Mungos, Harry married Ginny but she died. Harry ends up falling for Draco, Mrs Weasley embraces him as a son and Draco cures Hermione. It's a good one and Harry says his dicks like the Eiffel Tower. It's relatively graphic, lots of lemons, very funny and well written.
