I was away on holiday hiking over mountains, when I saw a news article saying my school's woodwork building burned down. Thankfully it didn't affect my class. The surrounding community was quick to respond and put the fire out.
Ugh we had those in preparatory school... They were called "mobile units" but never moved. Our class was in UM3. I could never focus because it was burning in the summer, freezing in winter, and the heaters were electrical and only warming space in a 1m radius. But one day I had crossed my legs and the sole of my shoes was against it and starting to feel sticky. & my fav game was to stick a pen in the heater until it melted so I could twist it in funny shapes.

We called them trailers. I spent 4th grade in one.
Our school flooded once, and the only buildings with enough clearance to shelter the students were the portables. They almost floated away, but everybody was dry.
