Well yeah that seems logical in a way, motivation gives better results and in some jobs where you have a week to do something and doing it faster only means you're gonna spend time sitting in a chair doing nothing on Friday, having only four days in a week makes you want to give it all you've got, you tend to be extra thankful to your employers and everyone works hard to make sure it won't go back to a longer week.
Here we''ve had a "standard" 35h/week for the past 40 years or so and everyone's ok with it. Sometimes things are just right and people don't have a reason to complain.
This practice will never work for manufacturing and the world of physical products and services. creating further divides between the skilled and non skilled workers.
