That would be why I asked if the slide can hinge. Had no idea they did that-- I tend to just slide down them and leave it at that-- but it's good to know. Learning new things every day

For me it's the difference between:
"I don't mind if you wanna do that, or if everyone does it together, but sometimes I'd like to be able to join up with these people who I relate to/feel comfortable around, without interfering with your ability to keep doing the thing how you want to as well," and "I want to do this, but fuck you and everyone like you, I don't want you anywhere near this thing I like. Ever."

I think there's certain spaces where gender division should be permitted and allowed. I don't really care what gender you identify with, I don't want co-ed bathrooms. And I know a lot of males who feel the same.
Similarly, someone's uncomfortable working out in front of another gender-- which can also have situations where the person is naked for changing and showering etc (unless people now want co-ed fitting rooms as well), there should be safe places for them to be able to do so without having to isolate themselves. The same with dormitories, sporting teams, etc etc etc. And this applies to all genders. Not just women.
I don't view these issues the same as depriving someone of a basic right to entertainment, especially for no logical reason, when there isnt even an alternative presented or available.

Can the slide hinge? If so that would make infinitely more sense

So you go from "almost certain death or dismemberment" to "i'd like to relocate my tailbone into my left nostril, and surgery is expensive."

We were all having a good day, ffs.
And I thought the head was the worst part, but then I looked at that area near the guy's fingers that looks like a bunch of tiny maggot legs wearing somebody's teeth for it's feet, and I've decided I don't need to see any more of Satan's demon feather from hell

Life pro tip for human trafficking 19 comments
xvarnah · 5 years ago
A lot of them have family members who have been threatened by the traffickers, are terrified of the authorities in a foreign country because they've either been lied to, or simply cannot stand the thought of being returned to the country they are from (which should tell you how bad the conditions where they're from are), and they don't speak the language where they are, so they can't even explain WHY they're screaming, are terrified and have been under control in some form for long enough that they genuinely believe the person would be able to harm them, or end up forcibly hooked on drugs and drugged up WHILE in transport...
This is not bad advice or a bad plan or anything, just adding that a lot of people don't feel/know it's an option

Dating 11 comments

That has little to do with not knowing what to do :s Everyone knows not to lie about their sexual history. There's not a single person who doesn't know not to do that in a relationship. They may choose not to, but that's manipulation or shame, not a lack of knowledge. That just sounds like you were dating assholes. Hopefully you have better fortunes in the future

Very informative. Although, "Giant seafish" now makes me wonder if the Loch Ness Monster could now be classified as a dragon.

I don't have kids either, but I've gotten to the point where I've had to tell other peoples' kids to stop what they're doing because it's endangering people around them (in particular two boys at an amusement park who kept slamming into each other so hard they'd bounce back and nearly clobbered a kid half their size and age who was standing in line a good distance behind them behind them). If you don't want to parent their kids, then the only advice I can give them is don't have kids, and stop being so unreasonable now that you do have them

It's not society's job to be understanding of your child disrupting an entire place of business and putting themselves and others in danger (hot food and dropping utensils is dangerous, not to mention causing people to trip). The note says a "reasonable" level of noise. They're not asking the children to take a vow of silence or even not be a little rowdy at the table, just not run around and not overly disturb others, so if the guy thinks they're not being understanding then he is beyond unreasonable imo.

I remember reading once that dragon was just a mistranslation of a word that was intended to refer to snakes. Don't know how true it is, though
