I've been staring at this picture quite some time now and tears are fucking flowing from my face. I can't believe how defestated he must be. And I so hope no customer will come in now
This reminds me of how time just passes. I can remember times when I was with my grandma in Ecuador and then few years later she's not here. You ask yourself where has time gone and long for those moments again.
I hate to be "that guy" (not really) but the picture is from a 2007 parade in St. Petersburg called the Victory Parade, and the man is crying because he couldn't catch up to his friends who had pulled away. It's unknown if he was actually a WWII vet, but he is a military veteran nonetheless. The whole thing is documented on Snopes.
Still kinda sad. It always gets me when I see grown men crying. My father, my brothers, my boyfriend... When I see them crying it feels like the world is about to end, because they're all strong and protective and NOT SUPPOSED TO CRY. at least that's what my mind says.
I think it's just as sad, because the poor old man lost track of his friends. I honestly hope he caught up with them and they all want out for drinks afterwards. For some reason, the multi-colored balloon and flowers makes it all sadder for me.
As a man, I gotta say, sometimes when I'm alone, i'll put on a movie and get way too emotional invested + getting drunk and just ball my fucking eyes out. Saving Private Ryan, Up, Pan's Labyrinth.... pretty much anything that's just tragic AF are the go to for those seshes.
Thanks for posting this because I was about to get mad that the event organisers would make this poor man walk along a parade all on his own haha that's would've just be cruel
