I carry my phone yes but gps stays off unless I need it and most data access is blocked by a firewall so unless I connect to a police/fbi fake tower (not really likely in the ass crack of nowhere Maryland) then the only tracking really going on is if somebody does a tower ping which is only as accurate as distance between the nearest three towers which are quite a ways apart. I've worked for a cell phone company, I know this shit! Not that I'm particularly hard to find for those that know me as my movements are rather limited and habitual.
