What happens is it is stuck in the female bees and they are unable to pull it out so they try to fly away but they become ripped apart. So to people finding the bee it looks as if thier penis exploded.
And infact they can mate between 7 to 10 times during the mating time. A queen bee during mating will allow multiple bees to mate with them and when a male loses it's penis the next will pull the others out and take thier turn.
