I agree with the hypocrisy of this but honestly I do the same thing(not about those words specifially). It has nothing to do with Jesus specifically, I'm not offput by him, it's christianity as a whole. I'm actually offput by all religions but some are more tollerable than others I guess
There are certainly people who use God as an excuse to do bad things, but there are plenty of Christians who genuinely try to make the world a better place. I tend to take everything in the Bible with a grain of salt, but we can't just ignore all of the good that Christians have done in the name of God.
There are good people who are also christians or members of any other big brother cult. What we call "good" in people has been developed by evolution even prior to homo sapiens. Altruism has been found before the first actual religion. Religions have hi-jacked this and other virtues to gain control over people. When the shaman became a priest it all went downhill.
I'm glad you made that point! The virtues and "good" moral values in religion can be used for good. But what you say about control of people is true, and has been true since ancient times.
I think it's because the female body is built to be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional, whereas the male body is more about function than anything else. Thus, a scenario crammed with the most aesthetically pleasing bodies is the most pleasing. Just a conjecture.
More from the Bogeyman department. Trust me, people who are engaged against religion usually do not fall for inspirational quotes of non-christian religions. But how should the maker of this meme know that, when he is portraying Ghandi as an ambassador of Hinduism. Though Ghandi was a hindu and referring to the hindu nature of many indians, but he was not even a hindu activist. He showed solidarity towards the Khilafat Movement and was actually assassinated by a radical Hindu, partly partly because he was engaged in helping the Dalit (untouchables) who were (and are) seen by many hindus as inferior.
God is not the only reason for peace, my friend. Even without Christ most Christians would not be murderers. It's not as if we're itching to do bad things and God is the only thing stopping us. I appreciate the idea but I can't imagine you would think that large a chunk of the population is being forcibly kept back form hurting others.
