What if, one of us was on a mission to find out the secrets of the other, and halfway through the mission, learned they really did enjoy spending time with them, and told the person they were spying on. Then they briefly broke up because of mystrust about the spying, and the spy then deliberately botched the mission and quit the job to be with who they were supposed to spy on?

If I was a woman, I would be. In fact, the second he sprung the "M'Lady" on me, I'd stop him right there and send him away.
It's a clear sign and a red flag that they have a tenuous grasp on social reality and have a lot of growing up to do still.
If I were the chick it would depend on how he said it. Was he being serious about it? Or like... sarcastic... poking fun at dudes who say m'lady. The later would go over much better.
