89 for me. That one felt like the only Batman movie that wasn't straining for credulity and missing the mark on what it means to be a comic book movie.
Yeah. 89 is still my favorite. It is the Batman movie that every Batman movie sense has tried not to be because they don’t want to be compared to it. That tells you something. When a singer comes out and wants to make their own mark they don’t want to be called “Just like Whitney Houston...” 89 batman wasn’t perfect, but it was amazing. It had the best film batmobile, the best film recreation of the noir/Art Deco Gotham, and it managed to balance humor with a dark and serious tone. Each movie except maybe the Schumockeries had some shining elements or aspects, but no other Batman movies have the balance of all the elements of the franchise that the first ones did.
