That's exactly what happened I bet. He flung his head into her lap right when they were posing for this lovely photo and hit the bottom of her glass. Now it'll be all over the both of them not to mention she was really looking forward to that drink. Ohhh being a mom...

Woman's doctor sounds awfully generic. Ultrasound technician is the title for people medically trained to administer ultrasounds to patients, and ultrasounds include all kinds, not just looking at a baby. They might be looking for a blood clot for example.
