"good at what he does" probably meaning he was a good enough boyfriend to get a house, 2 cars and a large stock portfolio, id say thats good at what he does

I don't, some people will always think it's "not ok", just like there will always be people who don't agree with inter-racial marriage. It's pretty much human nature to not be ok with something that is different from ones-self and ones beliefs
