And it needs to "if you were a chromosome". Enzymes are amino acid sequences, they don't have genes.

I have been having the same problem but the last half year I've finally made some progress by eating a lot more protein (eggs, nuts, grilled cheese) but what I think helped me the most is drinking chocolate milk every night because, it has lots of protein, you don't need to be hungry, it helps you sleep better which helps to buildt muscle and at night you body takes in more calories and stores it away. For excersise try cycling or swiming. It targets more than one muscle group, you can do it whit others and it's relatively injury free. But most inportantly don't give up. It takes 3 or 4 weeks to gain 1 kilo/2 pounds. So hang in there. If I can do it so can you.

What foods used to look like before selective breeding by humans 16 comments

The carrot and the chicken is selective breeding. The banana and the corn are polyploids, this means the have more than two alleles per chromosome. This can happen naturally but it also can be induced. I know they did that with seedless grapes, not sure about these two though. Not sure about the strawberry but looks like a polyploid as well. Splicing is usually used to insert a single gene and those are usually things you can't really see. For example they are make rice varieties with different kinds of vitamins to solve malnutrition in Asia.

And you see it when you have trouble focusing like when you are looking into a bright light or when you are really tired. Besides when you are looking through a microscoop white blood cells are still pretty damn tiny.
