In some states paper, plastic, and glass is sent out together and sorted at the plant. The three separate holes are for states that have to pre-sort but because they’re a chain they send the same ones to all.

So after seeing this post, I did some research. I don't think it was a race thing since both employees involved are also African-American. That opened more questions though.. Couldn't find anything online explaining what the misunderstanding was. As a retail manager I can't imagine any situation where I would abandon the sales floor especially if I thought there was a threat. If it was a real emergency the safety of the other customers in the store would be a major concern. I'm bewildered.
