Story time!
When I was little I had this very odd and irrational fear of being outside without someone watching me. Even with friends I was convinced I would get kidnapped. Mind you this was an issue all my life.

My mom always told me that if I was kidnapped they'd bring me back. That backfired in a massive airport in I think Florida.
.
My small, 3-4 year old ass wandered of in this massive, crowded airport, not long before our flight home. My two sisters, my mom, and dad were freaking out until I wandered back to them and my mom grabbed me and hugged me and told me she was so worried etc etc that I had gotten taken or something.
.
I shit you not I looked at her and said, "But momma. You always said if someone took me they'd bring me back."
.
She NEVER told me that again.

One of my cats is the opposite, she arches into it. You have a hand near her? She will head but her way under your palm for pets.

The ear one is true, know that from experience. The shit is, those tiny bones get damaged and you can get irreversible hearing loss. I have to wear a hearing aid because the bones in my ear are damaged
Edit:
TBH if anyone is curious about hearing aids or what it's like having mild hearing loss I can answer questions about my experience with it. I will say my hearing aid is pretty cool and actually really small.
