You typically wouldn't. If you know your monsoon/haboob seasons, you can tell when one is coming. They come on rather fast. Of course now our iPhones also provide a nice alert when one is on it's way.

Haboobs are common during summer months in Az. They suck and can cause lots of damage, but they are so cool to watch. ☺️
