Well knocking it over would be clumsiness. I would just say as a good point for this mug that it is actually way sturdier than it looks. I saw a video with someone trying it out and they could put idk maybe 20 pounds on it and it didn't break. But, it doesn't save it that it fails its purpose :)

Technically it fails its purpose, since if there was liquid inside of the "coaster" part, it would drop on you once you bring the cup to your lips.
