No system is perfect. Communism requires a general goodwill toward your fellow man (like star trek society) but we just don't have that and likely never will. People aren't usually bad or good, they are neutral toward any problems that don't directly affect them. They don't want people in africa to starve to death but they also don't want to help. You can't end world hunger easily with just money. Most of the issues aren't production based, but political. In places like The Congo (or whatever they are called this week) there are warlords and factions that will just take any aid b/c food is power over a starving population. Hunger in america is generally lack of awareness of programs or pride. Source: I work with a food panty charity and I run my own homeless charity.
