the vast bulk of their exports now are oil, machinery, and mining. That's not good since all of those markets can fluctuate wildly.

The only reason we don't eat people after they die is b/c they taste terrible (also can cause some brain diseases depending how you prepare it).

They were forced into it by conservative financial companies (specifically VISA and MASTERCARD) that doesn't like people getting off. Even though they do age verification and all that stuff, the payment processing companies threatened to pull their methods (currently THE most common) if they didn't pull the content.

This is how anti-vax people exist isn't it? They can't be bothered to spend 2 minutes online researching. "Sergey Vladimirovich Taboritsky (Russian: Сергей Владимирович Таборицкий; 12 August 1897– 16 October 1980) was a Russian nationalist and monarchist. From 1936 to 1945, he was the deputy of the Bureau for the Russian Refugees in Germany. After 1942, Taboritsky was a member of the Nazi Party and worked with the Gestapo."

not as much as you'd think. To turn a profit you have to sell at insane prices if you are giving yourself even $10 an hour. I mostly look to break even, that's why it's a hobby.

I mean, we all burn money on something someone else thinks is stupid. I'm a leatherworker, I throw money in a pit and light it on fire to make 12th century clothing. How dumb is that? I just bought a caribou hide for $110! Who even needs that?!

It's not lazy. Learning to identify necessary and unnecessary information is an extremely valuable skill. If you over analyze every detail you miss the forest because of the trees.

No system is perfect. Communism requires a general goodwill toward your fellow man (like star trek society) but we just don't have that and likely never will. People aren't usually bad or good, they are neutral toward any problems that don't directly affect them. They don't want people in africa to starve to death but they also don't want to help. Is apathy evil? That's a philosophy question.

Just once I'd like to see a time travel story where they go back and make things BETTER than they were in history. Why is every change ALWAYS bad? (I know, plot, but still).

You can't end world hunger easily with just money. Most of the issues aren't production based, but political. In places like The Congo (or whatever they are called this week) there are warlords and factions that will just take any aid b/c food is power over a starving population. Hunger in america is generally lack of awareness of programs or pride. Source: I work with a food panty charity and I run my own homeless charity.
