I'm a chemical engineer, so it was obviously worth it for me...but if I wasn't going into engineering I wouldnt have went to college I would have just worked at my dads mechanic shop and started my own business later...

I loved this show! When I'd go to my grandparents cottage as a kid, this was the only show that we could get on he TV, and I believe it was coming through on a Canada signal... good times watching that show nonetheless

No, no. It's a "shower beer". Hence, having a beer while in the shower...a beer shower on the other hand is a completely other thing, and most likely involves quite a bit of drinking to have already occurred.

I loved Frog and Toad books when I was a kid! Can't say I ever caught this one if it was actually in the books though.

10 Interesting Facts About The Chernobyl Disaster 17 comments
boredatwork · 10 years ago
Please watch Pandora's Promise on netflix. It has a section on it that debunks the majority of these facts....but here's one that should shine through all the "horror", at this time less than 50 deaths are attributed to the incident at Chernobyl...and yes that includes all people years later that may have died due to effects of high radiation. Oh and radiation levels are approximately the same there now as you'd experience in New York City..
Obviously, draw your own conclusion, but I surely changed my mind about how bad the Chernobyl accident was after I actually dug for some of the facts about it.

Math problem 5 comments

It shouldn't be hard...seeing as it's not asking you to solve anything. Now if they are asking you to simplify the expression, then I'd just stick with step 4. But honestly, this is just gibberish, not math.

what the hell...the first 4 steps should be one step. All they did was add....never mind it's all just gibberish :P

Thought I'd add one more thing. If you guys like documentaries or just want to learn about nuclear energy in more detail, check out Pandora's Promise on Netflix. It does a good job of explaining why nuclear energy is great for the world.

Another thing to add to for everyone's knowledge. We desperately want fusion technology, because then we can use hydrogen to create helium plus massive amounts of energy and no nuclear waste at all ;)

Gotcha. Well in that case, there's no nuclear fusion on earth anyways. All current gen reactors can only use nuclear fission (atom splitting) instead of fusion (merging atoms)
