I would just like to say that many of these (stolen phones with pictures uploaded to the cloud) could be someone's way of showing pictures of themselves to get feedback because they feel too shy to post a selfie by itself. I mean the person who actually owns the device. I don't mean all of them are, but it seems plausible that some could be, kind of like when someone says that it is their "friend" who is having a problem to avoid putting themselves in the spotlight but for these it's posted online so nobody could see if it the poster is actually the person in the pictures. TLDR.

I just can't help but think that video game characters basically mirror him.

On the fifth picture it begins to look like a skull to me further inside the reflections.
