30's? I think you mean 50's. Segregation legally ended in 54 but it wasn't until the mid to late 60's that all states and schools complied. Even then many of the schools that were being forced to integrate opted to close instead of accepting black students. Maybe I'm too old to be on this site. Growing up in the 80's would not make someone part of the 'toughen up' demo. Most of the people complaining about sensitivity were alive when racism was accepted and encouraged. They assume that new generations are too sensitive because they used to be able to abuse people and be protected by the law instead of having to treat everyone with respect.
