Making abortions illegal will just make them more dangerous and more expensive 102 comments

So if someone hits you with their car and say they don't want to have to pay your medical bills, that totally okay, you should be fine paying for everything yourself.

They can adopt, or find a willing surrogate.

There was false news stating that part about the charges from going out of state, unless it was from one of the other states implementing bans and they got confused.

Mine took less than 20 minutes from the time they wheeled me out of my room to the time they wheeled me back in. And that was including them rushing for emergency epidural drugs because they didn't believe me when I told them my epidural had run out

Are you implying there needs to be a reason to show off a new pet?

@scatmandingo I don't know, when it comes to child rapists especially I have to agree castration or death are valid options. Especially when right now the sentences are WAY too lenient due to plea deals.

Do you feel the same applies to the THOUSANDS of fertilized embryos that are intentionally created by fertility clinics (not to mention those for research purposes) and ultimately destroyed. What about their right to life?

Don't quote statics to me, I've actually been there, and I've been in counseling with plenty of other victims who ended up pregnant, some chose to continue with the pregnancy other didn't. YOU have no right to cast judgement on them. Pregnancy is a lot more common than YOU would think, given that most rapists aren't considerate enough to wear a condom. And that right to life is just as complicated, because until a certain point that life depends solely on the woman, taking vital energy and potentially causing severe side effects. As I've stated, once that pregnancy had reached the point the child has a reasonable expectation of survival outside the womb, THAT should be the cut off. But until that life is self sustainable it's not more important or having more rights than the woman. I will say, I personally hate the concept of abortion, but I also understand I have no right to make choices for that drastically effect other's lives. Cont.

Roe is going to be challenged and likely overthrown, but that's a good thing. We need a better established ruling that will eliminate this state by state bullshit. Much as the Marriage Equality ruling took that out of states hands. The problem is the timing. If we can put it off until the current administration is out it would be better. But the entire reason all these bans are happening is specifically so they get contested and taken to the Supreme Court. It's also why Pat Roberson said the Alabama ban was too extreme, because it hold zero chance of holding up in the Supreme Court because of it's lack of any exemptions or compromise.

That is an insanely oversimplification of a complex subject. There are numerous factors that completely ignores, such as rape, gestational ages, maternal welfare (physically, mentally and home life), financials, ECT.

Nope, sorry, but the guy should still have to contribute at least SOMETHING, because regardless of whether he wants the kid, it's not the kids fault he couldn't keep it in his pants. Saying the woman should bare the entirely of the burden both physically and financially is ludicrous on multiple levels, but most importantly that it affects the child as much if not more than the woman. As far as the "it's my body it's my choice", yes, it is her body that is going to bare the entire burden of gestating and birthing the child, so yes, it should be her choice whether she can handle that.
That being said, I feel that once that pregnancy reaches the point the baby is viable and has a reasonable chance of surviving on it's own (7 months+), it should no longer be an option to abort because it's no longer just her body. And honestly, if by that point she hasn't made up her mind that's really on her, adoption is always an option.

But THOSE people are true Christians. They don't follow the teaching of Christ. Christ said he came to bring a new law to be held above all others LOVE OTHERS AS I'VE LOVED YOU, as in without condition or judgement. WB don't love, they hate. He also said Judge not, and they SURE judge.

Yes, maybe YOU should bother reading the law. Alabama specifically REFUSED an exemption for victims. And theirs is in effect from the moment of conception. So it doesn't matter if you are 4 weeks, and there is definitely no heartbeat, you are out of luck.

@vitklim, you would be surprised. I've worked with rape crisis centers, and there are more pregnancies resulting than you think, because most rapists are considerate enough to wear protection, amd since the victims WERE CHOOSING to have sex they aren't necessarily on birth control. I wasn't.

Okay, Alabama, when Pat "Feminism Causes Witchcraft" Robertson says your abortion ban in too extreme, you really need to reevaluate yourself.

Literally they refused an exemption to allow for cases of rape and incest. Yet they don't consider the embryos intentionally created in fertility clinic to be under the law. Despite them being just as fertilized as a naturally conceived embryo, and they were definitely a choice, but the majority of those are destroyed. By refusing to allow victims to have this option its just another violation and will undoubtedly lead to a rise in suicides.

@flyingoctopus the people who do these before and after things are actually employed by the company and go through INSANE restrictions. They don't follow anything close to the actual plan, they tend to be starved and worked out to brink of torture at the risk of not only loosing the job but being fined for breech of contract. So just because this IS the same woman, it definitely doesn't mean the PRODUCT actually works

There have been cased where if a victim applies for assistance (food ECT) they are required to list the father of the child and the state automatically goes after child support. But in most cases the rape is cause for skipping that part, but it doesn't always happen. A case a few years ago got so fucked up by the lawyer the rapist (who raped mother at 12, when she got pregnant, then was convicted of 2 more rapes of 10 year olds in the following 8 years) was granted shared custody and given the mother/victim address. The system is fucked up.
