Starting Over

I recently graduated from college and accepted a job in a new city. The job turned out to be completely different than what they told me and I was making hardly any money and more importantly I was extremely unhappy. I decided to quit before I signed a permanent contract and had to sign/pay for an apartment lease. Now I'm a 22 year old unemployed grad and have no idea how to look for a relevant job. I'm a little excited but mostly I'm scared sh*tless.
Has anyone else ever been in this position? What did you do? How did you make such a drastic change in your life?

A lil bit different from you but I've been a tradesmen since I was 17 working on construction I'm now 25 and have finally said that's enough I was depressed, suicidal just hated it. So now I'm unemployed but trying to be a musician. I don't know how much happier I am but I'm definitely not as sad don't expect to be immediately happy once you find something you love don't expect it to solve your problems don't expect it to change your life straight away just remind YA self how shit it was before. Hope that helps anyway

I was an environmental campaign consultant. I really want to do something more with travel and exploration. I hope things work out for us both.

Maybe try to connect with people who do that where you are now? I'd think making good connections would help if you want to do something that isn't the "normal" thing to do.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea but like I said I'm in a new city and don't know anyone. So it's not easy to just go out and network. I wouldn't even know where to begin

Are there any events you can find where you are that might draw people in your field? You could try meeting people there.

Hey friend, this might not be my field, but I feel like you should try an find a part time temporary job first, seeing as you may need to have some income to tide you over first. In your free time, go out to events where you can meet people from your field. This way, you have a safety net in case you're not able to find a job with a job scope that you want within the next few months. Good luck!
