Is it just me getting older and noticing more of the world around me or is sexuality become a much more mainstream thing? I remember growing up watching the news and such and being on the Internet and sexuality wasn't something talked about but now it's everywhere.

Probably a bit of both.
You're older, so more aware of it. But at the same time, society is becoming more tolerant of sex and sexualities that even 10 years ago were looked at differently.
