Can anyone tell me the difference between Tomato Sauce and Ketchup?

I always taught that Ketchup is thick in consistency and a bot sweet. And sauce on the other side not being as a thick as Ketchup and being a little spicy

Depends on where you get the Ketchup. Some places make it sweeter, some give it more of a bite.
Tomato Sauce is more-or-less consistent. Keeping the acidity of the tomato, holding basically no flavour altering additives.
